So on to day three at SXSW(hiskey), and for this installment I think it might be prudent to share with you some of the gems I have overheard from Mike and Reid at the interactive portion. Now, I should preface this with the fact that these two dudes tend to be a little more negative than I am. I mean, I have my days where I hate everything and don’t give people a chance, but the jaded vibe of “that’s lame” that can emanate off these two is alarming at times. Okay with that, here are my favorites:
“What’s the deal? No one showed up to the crowdsourcing panel.”
***
“Augmented reality meet up?! How am I even supposed to show up for that?!”
***
Reid: Everything is a pitch, Katie.
Me: Oh yeah, what are you pitchin’ today? Pessimism?
***
Mike (while typing on his phone): WHOA did you see that?!
Reid: It’s voice control, Mike.
Mike: What do you do with it?
Reid: Talk to it, Mike.
Mike: Hi! HELLO! Hi.
***
Then we came up with two panels that should have been at SXSWi
1. Name Fail, Brah: Missed Opportunities in SXSWi Panel Titles
2. That’s Lame: The Positive Effects of Negative Thinking (this panel would be lead by special guest speaker, Reid)
I also came up with the best and most annoyingly geeky tattoo ever for this event:
So after we hit some more sessions we got a bite at Iron Works BBQ, charged phones and then were off to meet up with some east coast music types for dinner at Peché (home to the best whiskey sour I have ever had). We were then going to hit up a party, but walking by it looked weak, so…on to GINGER MAN!
While we were there a group of tech guys walked up to chat about what we thought was the future of the Internet. I simply showed them my sharpie tattoo and they exploded in laughter and gave us all high fives. Then they disappeared. I will say this though; the fact that they walked up to us and started chatting proved that Mike was wrong about how web geeks don’t communicate in real life (ahem, it’s IRL, Mike…jeeze). So kudos, dudes.
Okay, the music has started to fill the streets now as we power nap and gear up for the next round.

ShowShow has a new site!
Miles and I have been doing this podcast for over 4 years now or something stupid like that. I have no idea how we are not famous.
Whatever (she said as she flipped her hair), here is the new site with the new feed to ShowShow, the ABSOLUTE MOST AWESOMEST PRETTIEST AND SLUTTIEST PODCAST ON EARTH! You should really listen to it if you don’t already.
Okay, love you. (Slams door)
